What features are available during my trial?

During your free 14-day trial, you’ll automatically have access to all core membership features in Socket. You can also add any of our add-ons such as Pro Features, Socket Engage, or Leads, for free during your trial through our Subscription page.

However, your account will remain in ‘Safe Mode’ which allows you to explore the system with a few safeguards in place: Emails will only be sent to email addresses with your own domain, ensuring your clients won't receive any unwanted test proposals, and all integrations are read-only.

Your account can only exit safe mode with an active subscription. You can upgrade to a paid Socket account at any time during your trial.

What happens after my trial ends?

You can upgrade your account by selecting a plan and enering your payment details any time during your trial. Once you have begun your subscription, you can make use of our ‘Reset Data’ function during Safe Mode in order to remove any test data and begin preparing your account for your first proposals. When you are ready, check in with our team to remove Safe Mode and start winning those clients.

If you do reach the end of your trial without beginning a subscription, you will still be able to log in and access your existing proposals and content, however you will remain in Safe Mode and will not be able to create any new proposals.

What is an Active Client?

At Socket, we want to have a mutually beneficial relationship where everyone wins when you grow your business by closing deals and taking on more clients. We think charging for our software on a per-proposal basis does not encourage firms to stay on top of proposals. Instead, Socket's Core Membership Plans are based around the number of Active Clients your practice has.

The definition of an Active Client for the purposes of your subscription is client record of any type that has one or more "active" proposals or engagement letters on Socket.

I just subscribed to my plan. When will I be billed?

If you subscribe to a plan during your free trial period, you’ll be charged immediately for the subscription (minus any discounts if applicable). Your subscription will start right away and your trial will end.

Your subscription will renew automatically by charging the payment method on file until you cancel. You may cancel at any time prior to the next billing cycle.

When do monthly and annual subscriptions renew?

If you choose a monthly plan, the subscription fee for the month will be collected in advance, and all future subscription fees will be automatically collected on the same day each month thereafter.

If you choose an annual plan, the subscription fee will be collected for 12 months in advance, and all future annual subscription fees will be automatically collected on your subscription anniversary date each year.

Can I cancel my subscription?

If you decide to cancel your monthly or annual plan, you can do so any time before your next subscription billing date. Billing will cease on the next anniversary date. You will have full access to Socket until your latest billed period ends. Please note, there are no refunds for any unused periods.

What happens if my Active Client count increases to the next plan?

As your client base grows, you might find you need to add more clients to Socket than your current plan allows. Socket will begin to warn you when you get within 5% of your active client limit. If you have reached the limit of Active Clients within your plan, your plan will not change automatically; once at the client limit for your current plan, you will no longer be able to create a proposal, engagement letter or lead for a new client.

Fortunately, you can choose to upgrade your plan at any time. If you choose to upgrade halfway through a billing cycle, the current period will be prorated.

Will I be billed for clients with non-accepted or deleted proposals?

A client only counts as an Active Client once they have accepted an agreement that has been created through Socket. If the client does not have any active agreements - such as when their proposal or engagement letter has not yet been approved, or is marked as closed or lost - they will not count towards your Active Client quota.

What if a client has multiple proposals?

There are no limits to the number of active proposals, renewals, minor adjustments and engagement letters that a client can have - they only contribute to your Active Client count once.

Can I move my existing clients who are already in active engagements over to Socket?

Yes, you can. We even have import tools that will make it easier to bring clients into Socket from existing applications such as GoProposal. Your clients are as unique as you are, so our team are available to provide onboarding assistance for any situation. Importing existing clients will help you create a consistent client engagement process and improve your operational efficiency, so you can focus on the relationships that really matter.

Do I need to pay for all imported clients?

No. You will only be billed for active clients (see above).

Do you provide Enterprise or volume discounts?

Socket works with Practices of all sizes - our Enterprise level plans are available to provide a discount for teams with large active client numbers, and can be adjusted further for higher active client numbers on request.
