What features are available during my trial?
During your free 14-day trial, you’ll automatically have access to all core membership features in Socket. You can also add any of our add-ons such as Pro Features, Socket Engage, or Leads, for free during your trial through our Subscription page.

However, your account will remain in ‘Safe Mode’ which allows you to explore the system with a few safeguards in place: Emails will only be sent to email addresses with your own domain, ensuring your clients won't receive any unwanted test proposals, and all integrations are read-only.

Your account can only exit safe mode with an active subscription. You can upgrade to a paid Socket account at any time during your trial.
What happens after my trial ends?
You can upgrade your account by selecting a plan and enering your payment details any time during your trial. Once you have begun your subscription, you can make use of our ‘Reset Data’ function during Safe Mode in order to remove any test data and begin preparing your account for your first proposals.

When you are ready, check in with our team to remove Safe Mode and start winning those clients. If you do reach the end of your trial without beginning a subscription, you will still be able to log in and access your existing proposals and content, however you will remain in Safe Mode and will not be able to create any new proposals.
What is an Active Client?
At Socket, we want to have a mutually beneficial relationship where everyone wins when you grow your business by closing deals and taking on more clients. We think charging for our software on a per-proposal basis does not encourage firms to stay on top of proposals. Instead, Socket's Core Membership Plans are based around the number of Active Clients your practice has.

The definition of an Active Client for the purposes of your subscription is client record of any type that has one or more "active" proposals or engagement letters on Socket.
Can I import my existing pricing structure into Socket?
Yes, Socket is designed to make pricing migration quick and straightforward. If you’re coming from GoProposal, you can upload your existing pricing matrix using our importer. Socket automatically maps your services and prices, which you can then review and refine inside your Pricing Menu. You can use our AI tool to generate service descriptions, tailored to the brand voice of your website. You don’t need everything to be perfect on day one. Many practices import their core services first and iterate as they go.
Do I have to import all of my clients into Socket at once?
No, you choose the pace at which you import your clients. You can import clients in stages, bring across only active clients first, or even start by sending proposals to new clients while you gradually migrate existing ones, often at renewal stage. This makes it easy to switch without disrupting billing.

Can I still use my current proposal tool while I set up Socket?
Yes, many any practices run Socket alongside their existing proposal software during setup. Because Socket has Safe Mode enabled during the trial, you can build templates, test pricing, and explore workflows without sending anything to clients. When you’re ready, you can switch over confidently.
Can I use tiered pricing with Socket?
Absolutely, Socket is built to support modern pricing strategies and improve profitability with upsell features. You can create tiered services, different packages, and include optional add-ons, using Options and Extras, all within the same proposal. Clients can clearly see what’s included at each level, the fees, and choose what works best for them.
Does Socket support alignment fees?
Yes, Socket can automatically calculate alignment fees while you are preparing a proposal with annual services that follow monthly billing, so you can catch up fees to cover the part of the financial year than has already passed.
Do clients need to create an account to accept a proposal in Socket?
No, Socket is designed to remove friction and speed up acceptance, and Clients don’t need to create an account to view or sign proposals and engagement letters. Instead, they receive a secure link to review the interactive proposal and/or engagement letter, and can sign for all documents with one digital signature.
Is Socket suitable for small or newly-established practices?
Yes, Socket is used by practices of all sizes, including brand new practices and small teams.

Our Starter plan makes it affordable early on, with plans banded by active clients rather than proposals sent. Each plan comes with generous client limits, so you have plenty of room to grow before needing to move to a higher tier. Many new and smaller practices find Socket especially helpful for getting pricing, engagement letters, and proposals set up quickly and professionally, while knowing they won’t outgrow the system anytime soon.
Are engagement letters included in Socket proposals?
Yes you can chose to embed engagement letters into your proposals. This means clients can review and accept proposals and engagement letters together, all in one smooth experience.

You can set up different engagement letter templates to use within proposals, and your Socket pricing menu is linked to your service schedules templates, meaning the service content is automatically added to your proposal every time.
Can Socket proposals be viewed on mobile?
Yes, Socket proposals are fully responsive and work across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. Clients can review, compare options, and accept proposals from wherever they are.
Does Socket offer help migrating from GoProposal?
Yes, Socket is set up to make switching from GoProposal as easy as possible. We’ve built dedicated importers for pricing and proposals, so many practices are able to bring their existing setup across themselves in just a few steps. Your services, pricing, and proposal structures can be mapped into Socket quickly, without starting from scratch.

Can Socket match what I currently have in GoProposal?
