The Power Duo You Already Knew You Needed: Socket x Adfin Integration

Two tools = one seamless flow from proposal to paid.

We built Socket because existing proposal tools weren’t built with the true needs of accountants and bookkeepers in mind. They just weren’t supporting the jobs to be done or the solving the problems we need to solve as an industry.

Adfin started in a similar way, and I’ve been following their journey as they’ve revolutionised the online payments space for accountants and bookkeepers. In fact, I was one of Adfin’s first customers.

Now, after lots of hard work, we’ve launched Socket’s integration with Adfin.

This integration was set to change the game since the very start, fixing one of the most painful parts of running a practice: getting paid, without switching tools, and without manual chasing.

What the Socket x Adfin Integration Does Better

Yes, other tools connect proposals and payments, but Socket and Adfin go further. Because we’re purpose-built, you get things no other combo can offer.

Integrating with Adfin lets you:

  • Collect all payments with one integration: Choose when to collect by card, bank transfer, or by direct debit. No separate tools, no extra links.
  • Integrated direct debit mandates: Your clients can now sign and pay all in one platform: Socket. No honesty box, no tool switching, and no missed payments.
  • Easy transition for existing clients: Move your existing clients with minimal disruption, and with no need to issue a new proposal.
  • Clients get a better experience, you get paid faster. No chasing, no awkward “have you paid this?” follow-ups.

How the Socket x Adfin Integration Works

The first practice to use the Socket x Adfin integration was my own practice, FD Works.

At FD Works, we were used to juggling a couple of different systems to onboard clients, collect mandates, and reconcile payments. We already knew Adfin offered more: we were excited to automate as much as possible, and improve our client experience in the process.

Now, with the Adfin integration, we send a proposal through Socket and our new client signs and sets up their direct debit in one go.

We can also:

  • move our existing clients over without signing a new proposal,
  • generate invoices and send automatically through our Billing in Socket,
  • collect payments via Adfin without any extra work,
  • and keep accurate and up to date financial records (works best with Xero and soon with QuickBooks too).

It’s set to cut hours of admin time a month, by automating manual tasks and eliminating our need to chase clients at all.

Migrating all of our clients to Adfin will take a bit of time, but the system is set-up to make this as pain-free and easy as possible. We’re issuing minor adjustments to active proposals, or to move clients over during regular renewals.

We also love that Adfin has thought of everything, from the ABC Club and daily payouts with no retry fees, to payment fallback options, and the safety of the chargeback protection feature.
