Choosing software for your practice shouldn't mean picking your compromise, and that's why we've integrated with Sodium, a new practice management platform that thinks about software the way we do.
Sodium is a practice management platform for UK accountants, built by the team behind KashFlow and Staffology. They build on a simple principle: every part of Sodium works together as one system, but you're never forced to use all of it. If you'd rather use another tool for something, you can. As they put it, walled gardens are bad for practices, and that's exactly how we think about Socket.
Why we've integrated
Legacy practice management systems tend to be closed. Your data goes in and is hard (or costly) to access with other tools. Combine that with a model that makes leaving deliberately difficult, firms tend to stay because they are stuck rather than because the product is the best one for the job.
We believe in doing things differently: a connected ecosystem that allows firms to pick the stack that works for them. Yes, Socket and Sodium do have some overlapping functionality, but we think that's fine. We believe in letting the customer choose what works best for them - because the products that work well with each other will be the ones that win out.
Win in Socket, run it in Sodium
You win the work in Socket, and the client, the services, and the pricing flow into Sodium with no rekeying:
- See your Socket proposals in Sodium: proposals pull through to Sodium (including draft proposals if you require) complete with client details, services, total value and start date.
- Import clients in a click: new clients are created in Sodium from your Socket data and enriched automatically from Companies House.
- Flexible import options: import a client when a proposal is won, or earlier with services held as Proposed until the deal closes.
- No duplicates: if a client already exists in Sodium, map the proposal to the existing client record instead of creating a new one.
- Match services once: the first time a Socket service appears in a proposal you match it to a Sodium service, and every future proposal matches automatically.
- Proposal to billable client: when a proposal is won, one click turns it into live services and billing at the agreed pricing and frequency.
“Our platform is built to work alongside the tools firms already depend on, and the Socket integration is a clear statement of that commitment. Practices should be able to choose the tool they want for each job, and Socket's proposals are best-in-class. This partnership lets firms run proposals in Socket and everything else in Sodium, with no compromise.”

What's coming next
Next, we're working with the Sodium team to set up a full two-way sync, so clients can start on either side, and to map services across both directions.
“The team behind Sodium have helped shape modern accounting software, and what they have built in such a short space of time is amazing. Partnering with a forward thinking company like Sodium is something we're proud to do. We're glad to back promising new platforms like Sodium that share our philosophy. The more the best tools connect, the better the whole ecosystem gets for accountants.”
